Abstract:
To provide a production method that can produce PHA suitable for processing (for example, PHA powder) in the large-scale production of PHA.SOLUTION: A method for producing polyhydroxyalkanoic acid has a step (a) of preparing an aqueous suspension including polyhydroxyalkanoic acid and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and having a pH of 7 or less, and a step (b) of spraying and drying the aqueous suspension prepared in the step (a). The step (b) is a large-scale production step to spray and dry the polyhydroxyalkanoic acid of 300 kg or more. In the step (b), the median particle size of the polyhydroxyalkanoic acid is controlled to 103 μm or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
