Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a polymeric benzyl lithium reagent at good efficiency.

This method for producing the polymeric benzyl lithium reagent containing monomer units represented by formula (2) and comprises reacting a styrene/divinylbenzene copolymer containing monomer units represented by general formula (1) with a lithium compound represented by formula R4Li (wherein R4 is a 1-6C linear, cyclic, or branched alkyl or an aryl). In formulae (1) and (2), R1, R2, and R3 are each H, a 1-6C linear, cyclic, or branched alkyl, an aryl, or the like.
