To provide a method for producing a polyolefin, by which the operation can stably be continued without flocculation-massing or melt-massing the polymer in a slurry, even when the polymer is produced wherein the polymer produced in a liquid phase polymerization tank has a low melting point such as ≤145°C, even when operation conditions are somewhat changed, or even when a loop polymerization tank which is one of liquid phase polymerization tanks is used.
This method for producing the polyolefin in a liquid phase polymerization tank or in a combination of the liquid phase polymerization tank with a gas phase polymerization tank, wherein the melting point of the polymer produced in the liquid phase polymerization tank is ≤145°C, is characterized by using a catalyst whose solid catalyst component containing a transition metal component has a catalyst activity of ≤41,000 [g-polyolefin/g-solid catalyst component/hr].
