Abstract:
To provide a method for synthesizing polythiophene by an oxidative polymerization using a catalytic amount of an oxidizing agent.
The method for producing the polythiophene is characterized by oxidatively polymerizing a substituted thiophene such as 3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene in the presence of a palladium-based catalyst such as palladium (II) acetate, a copper catalyst such as copper (II) acetate, and oxygen as an oxidizing agent.
