Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a primary amine by homogeneously catalyzed alcohol amination of a primary alcohol with ammonia under elimination of water.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for producing a primary amine comprising at least one functional group of formula (-CH-NH) by alcohol amination of a starting material, which comprises at least one functional group of formula (-CH-OH), with ammonia under elimination of water. The alcohol amination is homogeneously catalyzed alcohol amination carried out in the presence of at least one complex catalyst, and the complex catalyst contains at least one element selected from the groups 8 and 9 of the periodic table and at least one phosphorus donor ligand of general formula (I).
