Abstract:
To provide a method allowing production of the corresponding pyridine compound in high yield and selectivity by deoxygenating a pyridine N-oxide compound under mild conditions.
The method for producing the pyridine compound includes: deoxygenating the pyridine N-oxide compound in the presence of a catalyst with a gold-immobilized surface in which gold nano-particles are immobilized on the carrier surface and a silane compound; and obtaining the corresponding pyridine compound. Hydroxyapatite can suitably be used as the carrier. Dimethylphenylsilane, 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane etc., can be used as the silane compound.
