To provide an efficient and effective method for producing a reflective tape designed to prevent the floating of a reflective film material woven or knitted in the final reflective tape, and to provide the reflective tape exhibiting excellent light-reflective function for a long period with good form stability while retaining its flexibility.
This reflective tape is obtained by the following procedure: simultaneously with weaving or knitting a tape-like ground fabric (11), hot-melt yarns (16) are woven or knitted together with the reflective film material (15) so as to be along with at least one side of the reflective film material (15), and the resulting reflective tape is heated to melt the yarns (16), thus integratedly fusing the sides of the reflective film material (15) with the adjoining constituent yarns of the tape-like ground fabric (11).
