Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a resin emulsion, capable of intentionally controlling particle size distribution, capable of preventing agglomerates from generating, and therefore capable of practically producing the resin emulsion which has the particle size distribution spreading to a wide range, even when a one-step emulsion polymerization process is applied to the method by the use of a vinyl-based monomer, to provide a coating composition given by using the obtained resin emulsion, and to provide a coating method for coating the composition.
SOLUTION: This method of producing the resin emulsion comprises subjecting the vinyl-based monomer to emulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium into which an electrolytic material is dissolved, while decreasing a concentration of the electrolytic material, and further, preferably, while increasing activity brought about a surfactant. The coating composition contains the obtained resin emulsion. Further, the coating method comprises coating the obtained composition.
