In a method for producing a rubber composition comprising a rubber component selected from a natural rubber and a synthetic diene rubber, an inorganic filler, a silane coupling agent and at least one of heterocyclic compounds represented by formulas (I) and (I'), the method includes kneading the rubber component with the whole or a part of the inorganic filler, the whole or a part of the silane coupling agent and the heterocyclic compound at the first stage of kneading.
