To provide a method of producing a separator base material for a lithium ion secondary battery capable of producing a separator for the lithium ion secondary battery having excellent discharge characteristics at high rate, self-discharge characteristics, and to provide a separator base material for the lithium ion secondary battery produced by that method, a separator for the lithium ion secondary battery using the separator base material for the lithium ion secondary battery, and the lithium ion secondary battery including the separator for the lithium ion secondary battery.
The separator base material for a lithium ion secondary battery is produced by wet papermaking of a papermaking wire having a permeability (JIS L-1096 6.27.1 A) of 200-230 cm3/cm2/sec. A separator for the lithium ion secondary battery using the base material, and the lithium ion secondary battery including the separator for the lithium ion secondary battery are also provided.
