Abstract:
To provide a method for producing sodium carbonate that can be produced industrially stably using an exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide.SOLUTION: A method for producing sodium carbonate by contacting an exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide is provided, which is characterized by setting the pH of the aqueous solution containing sodium carbonate to 11.4 to 12.4 after contacting the exhaust gas containing the carbon dioxide with the aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. In the production method of the present invention, it is preferable that the exhaust gas containing the carbon dioxide is an exhaust gas generated in an ammonia-soda process.SELECTED DRAWING: None
