Abstract:

To efficiently produce succinic acid from ammonium succinate.

A step of adding a monocarboxylic acid to the ammonium succinate and producing and depositing succinic acid is carried out in the coexistence of an alcohol in a plurality of stages and the final stage is conducted at an alcohol concentration within the range of 0.1 ppm to 10%. Crystals of the succinic acid deposited in the final stage are collected to provide the succinic acid.
