To provide a production method that can produce a sulfur-containing polymer such as a polyarylene sulfide with small environmental load and high yield.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for producing a sulfur-containing polymer by polymerizing a monomer component containing a disulfide compound and/or a thiol compound.
