Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUPER-MAGNETOSTRICTIVE MATERIAL UNDER MICRO-GRAVITY ATMOSPHERE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3230581
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high performance magnetostrictive material with a simple treatment in a short time.
SOLUTION: In the method for producing the super-magntostrictive material having the peculiarity, in which under micro-gravity atmosphere and under existence of magnetic field, molten super-magnetostrictive alloy is rapidly cooled at least at 50°C/sec temperature dropping speed to perform the unidirectional solidification, the molten super-magnetostrictive alloy is rapidly cooled by dropping and colliding onto a solid surface for rapid-cooling, and the temperature on this solid surface is made to lower than the solidifying point of this molten material by ≥1,000°C, and the magnetic force on the solid surface is made to ≥0.01 tesla.
