Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a stable dispersion that has sufficient viscosity stability or cement stability without inhibition of cement setting and simultaneously provides high flexibility and high stability, and a dispersible powder that is readily dispersible in the corresponding water.
SOLUTION: When a two-phase polymer basically comprising a vinyl ester and ethylene is produced, the polymerization process is operated under a low ethylene pressure in the first polymerization step, consecutively the ethylene pressure is increased in the second polymerization step. The disperse powder and a liquid dispersion therefrom according to this invention show good storage stability or high tear resistance.
