Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a new method for producing unsaturated carbonyl compounds through simple means with high reactivity and selectivity, enabling the synthesis of compounds which have been difficult to be prepared. CONSTITUTION:The compound having a carbonyl-substituted unsaturated structure represented by the formula I is allowed to react with an olefin in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, preferably an organometallic compound of ruthenium to effect the direct addition of the olefin to the unsaturated C-H bond to give the addition structure represented by the formula II whereby an unsaturated carbonyl compound is obtained. As compound which can be produced by the method, are compounds represented by the formula III (R1 is organic group; R<1>-R<7> are H, halogen, organic group which may have hetero atoms; one or more among R<2> to R<7> may constitute a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring which may contain or not contain hetero atoms). The compounds are useful as a variety of industrial starting substance, medicines, agrochemicals, perfumes or polymer products.
