This method for production of hydrogen by generating hydrogen from the organic material comprises a charging process for charging the organic material and a microorganism-charging process for charging a microorganism belonging to the genus Clostridium. In this production process, a stirring process for stirring the organic material in order to promote the reactive decomposition is involved. In the case hydrogen is generated from the organic material containing cellulose as a component, a microorganism-recharging process for charging the microorganism belonging to the genus Clostridium again at the point of time when it is recognized that the reaction settled is further contained.
