Abstract:
To provide a method for protecting a plant, in detail, a method for protecting a plant from damages by pests.
This method for protecting the plant is characterized by applying an effective amount of a (N'-methyl)benzoyl urea compound represented by the general formula (I) [X is F or Cl; R1is H, methyl, or the like; R2is a halogen atom or a 1 to 4C alkyl which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms; R3is a halogen atom, a 1 to 4C alkyl which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms, a 1 to 4C alkoxy which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms, a 2 to 6C alkoxyalkoxy which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms, a 2 to 4C alkenyloxy which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms, or a 2 to 4C alkynyloxy which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms; (m) is an integer of 0 to 4] to the root portion or seeds of a plant or to the root rhizosphere of the plant.
