Abstract:
To provide a disposing function or a prepaid type service for enabling only legal right holder for utilizing a download server, only once in downloading digital contents to a semiconductor memory (portable device) removably to/from a portable terminal, etc.
A contents service provider notifies an authentication station of information which includes the number of client certificates. A portable device provider notifies the authentication station of information, including the serial number of a device. An issued certificate is written to the portable device.
