Abstract:
To provide a method of purifying, recovering and converting a chlorophenol salt (for instance, 2,5-dichlorophenol and its salt).SOLUTION: The present invention relates to removing one or more impurities from a chlorophenol salt containing process stream and/or recovering a chlorophenol salt from the process stream to use recovered chlorophenol elsewhere in the integrated process. The process flow that may be processed in accordance with the present invention includes one obtained by incorporating one or more chlorophenol salts in a feed mixture, and one in which one or more chlorophenol salts are present in a product flow or a byproduct flow of an integrated process. For example, the conversion process is suitable as an element of the integrated process for producing 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid (dicamba) or its salt, or a method of producing 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D) or its salt or ester.SELECTED DRAWING: None
