Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the amounts of methanol and formaldehyde present in trioxane in a process for purifying the trioxane.
CONSTITUTION: This process for purifying trioxane from it solution containing ≤10% methanol and formaldehyde by separating the methanol and formaldehyde from the trioxane solution comprises adding water to this dilution a purifying step, or both the dilution and the purifying steps in a process for purifying the trioxane.
