Abstract:
To provide a method for racemizing an optically active amino acid amide in which water-removing process is eliminated in the racemization process of an amino acid amide in an aqueous solvent.
A basic compound is directly added to a solution of an amino acid amide dissolved in an aqueous solvent, and thereby the solution is separated into two layers. The organic layer is heated under stirring to achieve the racemization.
