Abstract:
To provide a method for rating the canceration degree of a mammal-derived specimen based on detecting gene abnormality, suitable for evaluating diagnostic or therapeutic methods for discovering cancer at early stages.
This method for rating the canceration degree of the mammal-derived specimen comprises (1) the 1st step of assaying the methylation frequency of Thrombomodulin gene contained in the specimen or an index value correlated with the methylation frequency and (2) the 2nd step of determining the canceration degree based on a difference obtained by comparing the above methylation frequency or index value with the corresponding control.
