PURPOSE: To make high quality recording with a simple device such as a home- use VTR, by sampling an input television signal in synchronism with a specified frequency signal which changed the phase by each one frame.

CONSTITUTION: A television signal obtained from a television camera 1 is given to an input of a tape recorder 3 via a sampling circuit 2. A synchronizing signal generated from the camera 1 is given to a synchronizing circuit 4, and two signals A and B with equal frequency and different phase(180°) are formed based on this signal, one is selected at each frame at a switch circuit 5 and given to the sampling circuit 2 as a clock signal. Thus, since the phase of the sampling point is shifted by 180° at each frame, the information with doubled precision can be obtained without changing the band of 3.58MHz.
