To provide a method for easily recovering lignin and cellulose from a waste of a woody composite material compounded by an adhesive such as veneer, laminated wood or the like.
The waste of the wood composite material compounded by the adhesive is crushed by a crusher to obtain crushed matter with the maximum size of 10 cm or below. This crushed matter is immersed in water and the water impregnated crushed matter is subsequently immersed in an alkali solution. This impregnated crushed matter is irradiated with ultrasonic waves and finely crushed by fine vibration by ultrasonic waves (cavitation effect) not only to separate and recover cellulose but also to elute and recover lignin. By this method, cellulose and lignin are recovered.
