Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERING METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03188228
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of harmful gaseous SO2 and As2O3 by roasting of the sulfide and arsenide of gold obtd. by treating gold ores with a floatation method by subjecting the sulfide and arsenide described above to oxidation roasting together with a specific amt. of lime, then separating and recovering the gold from the ores by a cyanidation method.

CONSTITUTION: The sulfide and arsenide of the gold obtd. by pulverizing the gold ores and processing the ores by the floatation method are recovered and are mixed with the lime. The mixture is roasted at 500 to 700°C. In such a case, the lime of at least ≥75% of the S and As contained in the sulfide and arsenide of the gold or the stoichiometric equiv. to the S and As or the lime of the larger amt. is mixed with the mixture and the mixture is pelletized and roasted. The A and As in the ores turn to CaSO4, Ca3(AsO4)2 as a solid state. The release of the S and As in the form of the harmful gaseous SO2 and As2O3 into the atm. is thus averted. The roasted matter is treated by the cyanidation method as an ordinary gold refining method, by which the gold is separated and recovered.
