The method for the recovery of the N-alkoxycarbonyl-tert- leucine comprises the recovery of the compound from a solution containing the N-alkoxycarbonyl-tert-leucine into an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent while keeping the temperature to ≥40°C. The aromatic hydrocarbon solvent for the recovery of the N-alkoxycarbonyl-tert-leucine is preferably one or more solvents selected from benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene, m-xylene and p-xylene.
