Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERING PLATINUM ELEMENT FROM WASTE OF CHEMICAL REPROCESSING OF SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01147025
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To effectively recover Rh and Pd as anode slag by subjecting the insoluble residue due to chemical reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, Cu powder and silicon salt to slag refining under specific conditions, converting the obtd. Cu melt soln. into an ingot and subjecting it to wet elecrtolytic refining. CONSTITUTION:The insoluble residue generated by the operation of chemical reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, an extractor for platinum elements consisting essentially of Cu powder and Ni powder and silicate or titanate contg. at least 70wt.% SiO2 or TiO2 and contg. one or more kinds of components consisting of CaO, MgO and B2O3 as the residual secondary components are poured to a slag refining furnace and are subjected to slag refining to obtain the Cu molten soln. or Ni molten soln. Said molten soln. is poured to an ingot to convert into a suitable ingot, is charged to a wet electrolytic cell and is executed to wet electrolytic refining by regulating it to an anode; Cu or Ni is ionized to deposit into a cathode to recover; and Rh and Pd are deposited to the bottom of the electrolytic cell as anode slag without ionizing and are recovered.
