To provide a metal adsorbent capable of adsorbing a useful or a harmful metal dissolved in hot-spring water, and further a method for recovering to remove the useful or the harmful metal dissolved in the hot-spring water.
In the method for recovering to remove the useful or the harmful metal dissolved in the hot-spring water, the method includes passing the hot-spring water through the metal adsorbent having a polymer substrate, a graft chain introduced into the polymer substrate by a graft polymerization and composed of a monomer mainly having a vinyl group, and a chelating formation group introduced into the graft chain. It is preferable that the chelating formation group is selected from the group consisting of an amidoxime group, a phosphate group, an amine group, an iminodiacetic acid group and a functional group obtained by making the phosphate group carry zirconium or iron.
