Abstract:
A method for recovering, by a dry process, a reusable, high-purity thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin from multilayer moldings which each comprise both a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin layer and a polyglycolic acid layer. The method comprises: step (1) of subjecting such multilayer moldings to size reduction using a crusher to form small pieces having uniform sizes; step (2) of feeding the small pieces to a dry-type gravity separator provided with an inclined net deck; and step (3) of operating the dry-type gravity separator to recover a thermoplastic aromatic polyester resin component which has been formed by delamination. The crusher includes both a housing equipped with multiple stationary cutting blades and a rotor which is encased in the housing and which is equipped with multiple rotary cutting blades on the periphery at fixed intervals.
