To provide a method for efficiently separating and recovering copper and indium contained in a dross containing copper generated in a lead smelting step.

The method for recovering valuables from an impurity lump containing copper includes: a soda treatment step (S1) of collecting impurity lumps containing copper emerging on a surface of a molten lead in the lead smelting step and adding sodium hydroxide and sodium nitrate thereto for soda treatment to obtain a soda-treated slag; a water leaching step (S2) where the soda-treated slag is subjected to water leaching to remove impurities therefrom; and a sulfuric acid leaching step (S3) where the water leaching residue is subjected to sulfuric acid leaching to obtain a sulfuric acid leaching fluid containing indium and copper.
