To provide a method for separating and refining a water-miscible organic solvent from a mixture of the water-miscible organic solvent and an oily component by few steps and in a short time.
The method for obtaining the water-miscible organic solvent by separating an oily component from the mixture of the water-miscible organic solvent and the oily component is provided. In this method, the boiling point(°C) of the oily component falls within the range of the boiling point(°C) of the water-miscible organic solvent ±25%. Specifically, this method comprises the following process: Water at 15-300 mass times the oily component is added to the above mixture and the resultant mixture is then distilled under the atmospheric pressure and at a temperature between ambient temperature and 250°C to separate the oily component and the water-miscible organic solvent.
