Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a glass polishing material by regenerating a polishing material with high purity from a slurry including a used glass polishing material.SOLUTION: In a method for producing a glass polishing material: a slurry including the glass polishing material used for polishing is recovered; the recovered slurry is cooled and frozen in a refrigerant having a different specific gravity from that of water; a mixture liquid consisting of a frozen slurry and the refrigerant is stood and separated to three layers including the refrigerant, water and the glass polishing material respectively; and the glass polishing material is recovered. An apparatus for performing the production method is provided.
