PURPOSE: To recycle the waste liquid generated accompanying the photographic processing of photographic sensitive materials by an automatic developing machine, etc., for photography by incorporating substantially no formaldehyde into a stabilizer.

CONSTITUTION: The stabilizer contains substantially no formaldehyde at the time of using the distilled water generated by subjecting the waste stabilizer to an evaporation concentrating treatment at ≤90°C under a reduced pressure of ≤700mHg as the evaporation makeup water for the processing tank of the automatic developing machine. Namely, the decrease of the photographic density and the generation of precipitate are resulted when the distilled liquid is reutilized in the case of the execution of the evaporation concentrating under the reduced pressure if the formaldehyde exists in the waste photographic processing liquid. This waste stabilizer may be alone or may be a waste photographic liquid mixture mixed with other waste photographic liquids in such a case. The higher effect of the stabilizer is exhibited by incorporating at least one kind of the compds. selected from formula I, formula II, etc., into the stabilizer. In the formulas, R1 to R6 denote a hydrogen atom or univalent org. group; R7 to R9 denote a hydrogen atom or methylol group.
