Abstract:

To reduce a portion of an oligocondensate in a polycondensate.

A polycondensate is dissolved in a solvent (A), and the formed solution is thoroughly mixed once or several times with 0.001-1 pt.wt., per 100 pts.wt. solvent (B), concentrated-acid (C)-containing another solvent or solvent mixture (B) in which the polycondensate is slightly soluble or insoluble and which has a density lower than that of the component A and is used in an amount to give a ratio of component A to component B of 2:1 to 20:1. The mixture is then separated into two phases, the high-density solvent phase is separated, washed with water, and the polycondensate is isolated from the high-density phase.
