To provide a method for reducing an unburnt carbon content in coal ash which can obtain fly ash from which unburnt carbon is removed to a desired content or below in a short time by a simple process, thus fly ash can be utilized as a cement admixture as it is, so as to cause excellent economic efficiency, also, the time taken for the confirmation of the quality of fly ash can be reduced, and concrete of stable quality can be obtained.
The method is characterized in that coal ash comprising unburnt carbon is charged to a dry type pulverizer, so as to crack and pulverize the unburnt carbon flocculated and stuck to fly ash in the coal ash, and thereafter, the fly ash and unburnt carbon are charged to a dry type classifier, so as to separate the pulverized unburnt carbon from the fly ash.
