Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating alkali metal that does not cause the deterioration in dehalogenation decomposition rate of organohalogen compound, even when the regenerated alkali metal is used again in the dehalogenation process.
SOLUTION: In this alkali metal regeneration process, an organohalogen compound and an alkali metal are subjected to the dehalogenation reaction and the block form of the alkali metal is collected and washed with a secondary or tertiary alcohol of 3 to 5 carbon atoms thereby the alkali metal is regenerated.
