To provide a method for reinstalling an elevator which shortens a period when a customer can not use the elevator and reduces a burden of the customer with respect to a temporary storage location for devices upon elevator reinstallation.
This method includes a preliminary construction step of temporarily installing in advance the guide rails 5a and 5b for a new elevator in a space having no elevator devices of an existing elevator inside a hoistway in a state with the existing elevator in the hoistway, a removal construction step of removing unnecessary elevator devices of the existing elevator from inside the hoistway, and a newly establishing construction step of installing elevator devices of the new elevator inside the hoistway, including the guide rails for the new elevator temporarily installed inside the hoistway.
