Abstract:
To supply BOD necessary in a denitrification process in an approximately constant dosage irrespective of seasonal variation with the use of raw sludge extracted from a final precipitation basin when nitrogen in sludge return flow water generated by anaerobically digesting sludge extracted from a water treatment system is removed in a biological nitrification-denitrification process.
Concentrated raw sludge 9 obtained by concentrating the raw sludge 6 is crushed by a raw sludge crusher 23, and the crushed sludge 24 is charged into a denitrification tank 19. Soluble BOD can be increased by the crushing so that the amount of the sludge to be charged can be reduced.
