Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING ORGANIC HALIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05317645
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for removing an org. halide in which the function of a catalyst is stable and is not lowered over a long time when gas contg. the org. halide, e.g. chlorofluorocarbon or trichloroethylene is brought into contact with the catalyst in the presence of air and water to remove the org. halide by oxidation decomposition.

CONSTITUTION: Platinum or platinum oxide is supported on a zirconia carrier produced by hydrolyzing a zirconyl salt by 0.1-5wt.% (expressed in terms of platinum) and gas contg. an org. halide is brought into contact with the resulting catalyst in the presence of air and water to remove the org. halide.
