Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a clean voice coil motor, that is effective for eliminating weld flashes for all ridges including a part with fine work and eliminated the flash being harmful to hard disk drive.
SOLUTION: In this method for eliminating weld flashes 11 and 12, that are generated by shear machining on a surface 1 of yoke parts made of low carbon steel of a voice coil motor for a hard disk drive, and has a thickness of 0.5 mm or smaller, the yoke parts are subjected to a barrel polishing process B and a flash removal process C. After the flashes have been removed, chemical polishing is conducted.
