To provide a method of repairing car body which does not require any skilled worker in applying putty, can shorten the time necessary for the application of putty, coating of a topcoat, and drying/curing, and does not require any color matching in the top coating.
In this method for repairing a dent caused in a car body having a crack-free coating, an ultraviolet-curable transparent putty is applied to the dented face, and the transparent putty is exposed to ultraviolet light to cure the transparent putty, followed by coating with an ultraviolet-curable transparent topcoat and irradiation with ultraviolet light to cure the topcoat. The transparent putty and the transparent topcoat have identical light transmittance and refractive index. The ultraviolet-curable transparent putty and the ultraviolet-curable transparent topcoat comprise a composition prepared by adding an ultraviolet-induced polymerization initiator and a viscosity modifier to urethane acrylate and kneading the mixture.
