To establish simple technique for preventing hot rolling crack of a slab of copper and copper base alloy having intermediate temp. brittleness.

In this rolling method, after hot-rolling the slab of copper and a copper alloy (example: nickel silver) having the intermediate temp. brittleness to just above (1650°C) the temp. range of intermediate temp. brittleness, the slab is cooled down to just under of the temp. range of intermediate temp. brittleness on a rolling table and, furthermore, rolled to a prescribed final thickness in the same rolling mill. By cooling the slab to just under the temp. range of intermediate temp. brittleness, rolling in the intermediate temp. brittleness region is evaded and rolling is executed at a temp. outside the intermediate temp. brittleness region.
