Title:
METHOD OF SAMPLING TAR IN COKE OVEN GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02248494
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the extraction of tar from coke oven gas to be effected surely and easily by passing coke oven gas through lumps of ice to cause the tar in the gas to adhere to the surface of the ice and allowing the lumps of ice to melt.

CONSTITUTION: Filters 4 made of a metallic gauze are provided to form a plurality of layers in a container 6, and lumps of ice 7 are put on each of the filters 4. Coke oven gas is introduced through a gas pipe 5 into the lowest layer 7 of lumps of ice. The coke oven gas is brought into contact with the lumps of ice of each layer so that the tar in the gas adheres to the lumps of ice. The tar then drops due to thawing of the ice and is collected in a reservoir 8. This technique enables the extraction of tar from coke oven gas to be effected surely and easily and gives such an effect that the control of coke oven operation can be performed properly.
