Abstract:

To provide a higher selective EDA(+)FN-affinitive substance in the elimination of a cellular fibronectin (EDA(+)FN) which is assumed to be a causative substance of autoimmune diseases from the body of a patient, and to provide a compound and a method for controlling the metastasis of a cancer cell.

A polysaccharide such as a gellan, in which glucose, glucuronic acid and rhamnose are 2 mol:1 mol:1 mol at the abundance ratio, is subjected to a sulfuric esterification and a saccharide having the sulfuric esterified hydroxy groups at 6-position of glucose 2- and 3-positions of rhamnose and at least one unmodified hydroxy group is obtained. The adsorption treatment of EDA(+)FN is performed by using a compound insolubilized and particulated of the saccharide or a compound fixed the saccharide on an insoluble carrier.
