To provide a method by which at least an alcohol can be separated and recovered in high purity from an azeotropic mixture of an olefin and the alcohol.
The method for separating the azeotropic mixture of the olefin and the alcohol comprises carrying out an azeotropic mixture-crystallizing step of subjecting the azeotropic mixture of the olefin represented by RfCH=CH2 (wherein, Rf is a 1-10C straight-chain perfluoroalkyl group) and the alcohol to crystallizing operation, and separating thereof into an olefin portion having higher olefin concentration than that of the original azeotropic mixture, and an alcohol portion having higher alcohol concentration than that of the original azeotropic mixture, and a highly alcohol-purifying step of subjecting the separated alcohol portion to either of the crystallizing operation and distilling operation, separating thereof into a low-alcohol portion having lower alcohol concentration than that of the original alcohol portion, and a high-alcohol portion having higher alcohol concentration than that of the original alcohol portion, and recovering the alcohol as the high-alcohol portion.
