Title:
METHOD FOR SETTING PRESSETABLE IDEAL VEHICLE SPEED AND CONTROL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3338695
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing overshoot when a vehicle speed approaches a favorable speed in cruise control.
SOLUTION: In a method for setting presettable ideal vehicle speed, a control signal operating an engine and/or a transmission of an automobile is generated by taking a state variable and an operation variable of the automobile into account in a cruise control system. A substitute speed which is different from a favorable speed and is generated by adding an offset to the favorable speed is preset to avoid overshoot generated when vehicle speed approaches the favorable speed, and the substitute speed is above or below the favorable speed in accordance with actual vehicle speed. When actual vehicle speed approaches the favorable speed, cruise control is done by utilizing the substitute speed.
