To provide a method for producing a dialkyl carbonate and a glycol, both of which are clean and free of metals or hazardous materials by an ester interchange reaction between an alkylene carbonate and an alcohol.
In the method for simultaneously producing the dialkyl carbonate and the glycol by the ester interchange reaction between the alkylene carbonate and the alcohol, the method is characterized by using a phosphazenium salt comprising an organic anion represented by formula (1) as a catalyst (in the formula, (a) to (d) is each an integer less than 3 or 0, but (a) to (d) are not 0 at the same time, R is a 1-3C hydrocarbon group and can form a ring structure by mutually bonding two Rs on a same nitrogen atom, and Q is hydroxy anion or an alkoxy anion).
