Abstract:
To provide a technique for manufacturing ferronickel by heating and reducing a mixture containing a nickel oxide ore in a reduction furnace, which can accurately and efficiently charge the mixture into the reduction furnace and take out the mixture from the reduction furnace.SOLUTION: A method for smelting a nickel oxide ore for manufacturing ferronickel by reducing a mixture containing a nickel oxide ore as a raw material ore and a carbonaceous reduction agent includes a mixing treatment step of mixing the nickel oxide ore and the carbonaceous reduction agent, and a reduction step of charging the mixture into the reduction furnace and subjecting the mixture to reduction treatment, where the reduction furnace is a box type furnace and is a furnace provided on an opposite surface of the box type furnace so that a sample charge port to which the mixture is charged and a sample take-out port from which the produced and obtained reduced material is taken out are arranged on a straight line, and the mixture is charged into the reduction furnace by pushing the mixture from the sample charge port using a sample pushing rod, and the reduced material is taken out from the reduction furnace by pushing the reduced material to the sample take-out port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
