Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a cement-base solidified material of the EP-collected ash having a high strength and from which heavy metals are not eluted by supplying slaked lime to the combustion gas in a combustion gas passage before an electrostatic precipitator and then solidifying the ash collected by the precipitator with a cement-base solidifying agent.

CONSTITUTION: Slaked lime is supplied to the combustion gas in a combustion gas passage before an electrostatic precipitator, and the ash collected by the precipitator is solidified with a cement-base solidifying agent. In this case, the supply of the slaked lime is adjusted so that the ratio of the slaked lime to (HCl+SOx) in the combustion gas to be subjected to the reaction is controlled to 1-10. Consequently, the strength of the obtained solidified material is drastically increased, the amt. of the heavy metals eluted is kept within reference values, the heavy metals are not eluted, and the solidified material is harmless to the human body even when discarded as such.
